As a painter Josh is drawn to the landscape and a love of place (topophilia). Among his favorite things is spending time in nature and traveling to new places. However, his most cherished moments have been found at home in his own backyard. This photo blog is a way to document his most important work of all, his family.

"One of my favorite photographs is of my oldest son playing with a toy truck in our backyard. He was running back and forth loading the truck with fallen leaves and dumping them in a pile. For me this was one of those moments that I wanted to keep forever. I had a sense that like the falling leaves it was here for only a moment, then would be gone. Fortunately, like leaves on a tree these types of moments return in different forms. But we will only enjoy them if we take the time to notice. "Our Daily Lives" is an attempt to take time to notice those seemingly unimportant moments of life, to enjoy them while we can and hopefully preserve them in some way."
